Meet Gregory, who walked through Mumpara Group’s doors in September 2019, seeking a helping hand to secure employment. Greg, with a young family and a diverse work history, including construction and partial progress in a sheet metal apprenticeship, turned to us for assistance.
We successfully connected Greg with a short-term labour hire gig at THE Mining, a respected Darwin-based company and a valued client of Mumpara Group. His journey began in THE Mining’s Humpty Doo manufacturing workshop, where Greg assisted Tradesmen in fabricating materials for significant projects across Darwin.
From day one, Greg’s diligence and seamless integration into the close-knit team were evident. Quick recognition of his potential and eagerness to learn came from both co-workers and the Fabrication Manager.
A month later, THE Mining approached us with an exciting proposition – a permanent role for Greg through a Boilermaking apprenticeship. This move, a testament to his exceptional performance, marked a significant step forward in his career.
Despite facing challenges, especially in bookwork, Greg found unwavering support from his mentor, Dion Layton, the Fabrication Manager. Together, they overcame hurdles and propelled Greg’s career to new heights.
